The Porsche Boxter is one of the most desired convertible roadsters on the road. The Boxter has a mid-engine layout making it a balanced, easy-to-drive sports car. It's available in the base or S trims, the S trim increasing the engine output and adding further sports tuning and upgraded features.
The base Boxter's horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine makes 255 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque. Stepping up to the S model brings a direct-injected version of the engine increasing output to 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque.
The Porsche Boxter comes with a six-speed manual for both the base and the S models. A PDK automated manual gearbox is an option for both models. Porsche's PDK transmission can behave like a conventional automatic, but it also gives the driver the option of changing gears manually from buttons on the steering wheel.
The base Boxter comes nicely equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, fog lamps, partial leather upholstery, and a four speaker sound system with CD player. Moving up to the S model adds a seven speaker sound system and 18-inch wheels in addition to the performance enhancements.
Additionally, Porsche has an extensive options list that includes a variety of interior and exterior color and accent options, different wheel size and colors, hard top, ceramic brakes, sport seats, a Bose sound system, a short shifter, and leather interior.
