LAcarGUY‘s Mike Sullivan will be honored at the 16th Annual Millennium Awards Gala in Saturday June 2nd at the Fairmont Miramar in Santa Monica with the Community Environment Leadership Award.

This honor recognizes Mike’s personal commitment to supporting so many important local environmental organizations and for actively promoting community projects from beach cleanups to creating school gardens. When Global Green needed hybrid cars for their Red Carpet – Green Car campaign (i.e., taking stars to the Oscars in fuel efficient cars), Mike provided them.

When it came down to the Porsche 911 and Boxster, the demographics have traditionally been split. Whereas men preferred the power and presence of the 911, more often than not the stereotype has been that women enjoyed the zippy driving style and sleek curves of the Boxster. But with the Boxster being all new for the 2013 model year, do men, should men be wary of their appearance if they were to own one? According to famed British automotive critic Chris Harris, the answer is a definite ”no”.

Not only does the 2013 Porsche Boxster carry broader shoulders, a wider footprint, and more power with less weight, but its handling characteristics are so competent, so agile, that Harris himself is torn between whether or not he would approve the new, more powerful 911 over the lithe new Boxster. It’s that good.

Both the Boxster and more robust Boxster S models are powered by flat-six engines with direct fuel injection enhanced by electrical system recuperation, thermal management and a useful start/stop function for more impressive fuel efficiency. These features can be found in the Boxster’s new base engine, which delivers 265 hp from a 2.7 liter displacement – translating to a ten hp improvement over its larger displacement predecessor. As for the Boxster S, the displacement increases to 3.4-liters, while the power jumps to 315 hp — a five hp improvement over the last Boxster S.

Earlier this month, LAcarGUY proudly sponsored the 4th Annual Gold Standard Food & Wine Event that featured a diverse selection of LA’s best restaurants, hand picked by Pulitzer Prize winning food critic, Jonathan Gold.

The event was held at the Peterson Auto Museum, and as he is known for his unprecedented taste and appreciation of the varied and diverse cuisines in the area, Jonathan brought together some of his favorites. And the reviews are in! From the Huffington Post to LA Mag to local blogs like Chowhound, they all agree that the Gold Standard is the best food event in LA! On the hottest day of the year so far, 2000 attendees ate and drank their way through the best that LA has to offer.

Pacific Porsche Hosts 911 Launch Party

Pacific Porsche held a launch event for the highly anticipated, all-new 2012 Porsche 911.

Approximately 100 people were in attendance at the launch event for the all-new 2012 Porsche 911, and everyone enjoyed appetizers, champagne and went home with a special gift bag.

Pacific Porsche Receives Premier Dealer Status

What does it mean to be recognized by Porsche North America as a Premier Porsche Dealer? It signifies that Pacific Porsche is one the top 25 dealerships in North America, encompassing performance among peers, product representation, and the development of key Porsche business drivers.

This is no trivial achievement as 175+ Porsche dealers did not make the list including most of the largest dealers in the country, and one of only 2 in California to be so recognized.  This came as a result of some very hard work on the part of all of the Porsche employees and management and the commitment of Mike Sullivan to provide Pacific Porsche with all of the tools (and a “small” remodel) necessary to reach the top.

Join LAcarGUY for the 22nd Annual Manhattan Beach Fireworks on Sunday December 11th. While the fireworks kick off at 7PM, there are plenty of activites for the whole family before they start.

From 4PM until 6:30 there will be a Snow Park for the kids featuring five 50 foot runs, two snow play areas and Snowmen ready for family photos.

Los Angeles – December 1, 2011 – LAcarGUY is pleased to announce the addition of Subaru Pacific to its family of dealerships. Subaru Pacific, LAcarGUY’s eleventh dealership, will open its doors December 5^th, 2011 in Hermosa Beach, and will then move to its permanent location in Torrance the following year. Subaru has not had a presence in the South Bay for fifteen years, but Mike Sullivan, President of LAcarGUY, believes the time is right to bring this iconic brand home.
